Le Meurice Alain Ducasse
Two Michelin stars, a Versailles-inspired dining room, and a product-led cuisine guided by Alain Ducasse and Amaury Bouhours.

At 228 rue de Rivoli, opposite the Tuileries Garden, Restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse makes its setting part of the experience. Gilding, chandeliers and classical lines recall the great French salons, while contemporary furniture gives the room a lighter touch. The dining room takes inspiration from the Salon de la Paix at the Château de Versailles, reinterpreted with designer Philippe Starck.
A grand room, a focused cuisine
The setting is theatrical, but the kitchen’s stated aim is restraint. Alain Ducasse’s “cuisine of the essential” starts with the ingredient: preserve its true flavour, then let technique recede behind it. Executive chef Amaury Bouhours now leads the kitchen. The restaurant describes its approach as creative cooking attentive to seasonality and the provenance of its ingredients.
That contrast between ceremony and simplicity gives the restaurant its character. It suits a celebratory dinner, but also a meal spent noticing how a familiar ingredient can become the centre of a carefully judged plate. The menu changes, so check the current offering before booking if you have a particular dish in mind.
